I finally got some pics for this room and it's a hot mess. You all were so helpful with my Living room that I thought I would work on this project next. Right now I need to use the room for dining occasionally with four people, and at least a one person office. Sometimes there will be two people working in there. I have a deep black armoire, 2 white bookcases, 2 short file cabinets that have a black stained table top on them, and an oval dining table with 8 chairs. I can remove the leaf to make the oval dining table round. I'm not opposed to building a wall of bookcases and built in desks but I just don't know where to start. I also have two Queen Anne type chairs and I bought an Aeron chair off of Craigslist for my partner who is getting it for Christmas. Not the best looking chair, but he has wanted one forever. Any ideas are appreciated.

I would be aiming towards a room that feels less office and bumped into a very attractive space, because of it being so visible/open. See picture below; configure a type of bookcase that could easily be adapted for use as a dining room. Add a small seating area and consider storage so that things can be hidden away - like the printer or computer, etc. I would change the drapes and the chandelier to better suit a more casual room.
