Anyone notice that all of these people who ask for free seeds, plants,money, etc. are usually new members with no other activity ?

Yeah, it's kinda weird. Do they think this is a plant give-away site? And why not ask locally if that is the case? Free plants are more likely to come from local homeowners dividing or discarding excess than someone online making the effort and expense to ship to a remotely located total stranger for nothing in return.

I was on a website talking about free plants and seeds and swapping. The links says to swap and send stamped self address envelope. I'm new to the site and not familiar with the protocol. Learning as I go.

I understand, we all have to start somewhere. It's just not a good idea to go to a new, unfamiliar website and ask for something for free in your first post.

If no one here helps you with seeds, you can get them at a dollar store very cheaply.

You have a very valid point, I hope I didn't offend anyone? I don't normally utilize these sites. Something new for me. Thank you for your advice and lead on cheap seeds. I bought my starters from the botanical garden last year. First time doing that it was fun. So many beautiful plants and flowers to choose from.

Hello , still learning my way around this site. Trial and error, but I'll get the hang of it. I would like to think I'm not in that category. It may take me a day or so, but I'll respond. Agree small seeds are cheaper to send. I would expect actual plants to be sent only bulbs or seeds if afforded that luxury. I plan to reciprocate the favor and upload pics of my results. I would appreciate any advice or ideas that can help me to be successful. Thank you Gary for your guidance and information.

2. Hit "Message" and send me your address and I'll send you some seeds. That keeps out addresses and private info off the web for any stalkers to pick up.

3. You might go to Round Robin Exchange and check out OBF or FOTESS. Those are two groups that do monthly swaps. You get to know people and have fun, learn about the site, etc. Read through the postings to get a feel for the group and see what they do.
