The wood planks that look like cement looks dirty to me. I do like the rest of it.

I find it interesting how they managed to convey something akin to warmth along with the industrial-style, rather grimy-looking planks. It's not something I would want to live with, but there's something rather admirable about it on the whole.

I LOVE it!

I like it even more after seeing the amazing views.

interesting - after mucking around with my floating island vanities in the master - I am pretty sure some things have been photoshopped out.

Supply and drain lines for the sink (that cabinet, while showing being on wheels - is really not. MAYBE they put the supply and drain (and vent!) right in the middle - but it's still there. And the wiring for that 50 amp service for that indiction cooktop may not be all that hidden in that spindly legged island.

I know - I am a killjoy - but trying to hide real, necessary crapola ain't easy and it takes WAY MORE SPACE than you ever expected. Damn you, photoshop.

I love it!!!

Wow! Spectacular decor, finishes, designs. I can’t get over those views ... would love to see them at night. I love all the stained woodwork and metal colors used, and think they and the furniture look amazing juxtaposed with the aged gray woods (eta: concrete, oops).

Thanks for sharing, Gizmo, I’m going back to look some more. :)

I'm 99% certain that what looks like concrete is concrete. It's just showing the impression of the wood forms from when was poured (article says, "especially the stripped tenth floor with its bare concrete" and "And all that within the building’s brutalist concrete backdrop" and "the drama reveals itself on a minimalist stage — walls, ceilings, columns and lift shaft are expressed in concrete formwork.")

I actually really like Brutalism, so I'm on board. Very cool.

Not my style, but very well done.

The window in the breakfast eating area is outstanding!

C'mon, June. No need to spoil architectural fantasy with petty little practicalities like the reality of kitchen cleaning.

I love so much of this as well. It's beyond luxe. The wood floor, the furniture, the custom walnut details, the vintage wenge coffee table....!!! It's not my ideal home either but this is gorgeous and it works. Great example of how to warm up cold grey concrete.

I especially like the "wet cement" look. I helped upholster bedroom walls in hand-dyed silk that was called wet cement, but the dye was applied in swirls. It was rather difficult to piece together, however, and I had to do all the sewing and piecing.

OMG where can you get those wood planks that mimick concrete, gorgeous!
