Are handles wavy? I had them in a coppery finish. Are yours pewter, or? Also is the floor a basic blend with new counters?

So the basket weave Ill have to clean w a brush, huh? That could knock it out of running.

Handles are smooth, inexpensive, kinda dull and older, actually. I was wondering what to do with them.

Floor will be new bc we need to expand the tile (and I hope put radiant beneath) more into the oak foyer that has gotten water stained and abused over the years.

Beautiful kitchen! I love the maple cabinets and new countertop! Please consider a 4” granite backsplash. No grout, timeless. Your fabricator might have some of your countertop material left over and they could easily cut them for not too much $$. Here’s a wonderful inspiration pic:

"Appliance garage" is fine, but are you at all considering removing it... of course, for a 'cleaner' look with longer stretch of tile.

@everdebz- agree re more tile w/o garage but I love hiding the toaster, coffee pot and accoutrements and have little space elsewhere. Thanks. What do you think about stainless versus black wall oven?

Stainless new oven, for sure. Keep away from any super-small tile. The grout is a dirt-magnet. I like the arabesque shape for your kitchen. Sticking with white or a light, light grey would work. Hopefully @BethH will swoop in with tons of photos and ideas. Keeping the backsplash light is the right idea.
I have beadboard in my house because my cooktop is in the island. I loved not having to choose a tile. That idea might work for your kitchen as well.

Deryl, I would do a cream, so not too stark. I love subway tiles, but you can certainly do other shapes. A picket shape is fun.

I don’t like the arabesque or small tiles that you show.

Red, what color is your beadbaoard?

I would consider introducing a pale color, like blue or green, rather than introducing pattern with the tile. I could see a square tile to echo the squares in the window. There are beautiful subtly variegated but still read as solid color tiles out there.

Of course marble is a tried and true that will work, depending on your new floors.

Raee, thought if that too, but it looks like the floor might be green.

Countertops look great. I’d go for a simple tile backsplash, perhaps in white. If you are keeping the wall color paint, maybe a very pale sage. Would also simplify the kitchen by removing the decorative window valance and items on top of the cabinets for a cleaner look.

All appliances are stainless steel? You asked about oven, and whenever new is bought, I'm for s.steel to match.

I didn't see your samples at first - another marble look to me a 'no' as well as the shiny glass one.
