Creative deck fencing ideas

Hi all! I live in a townhouse with an IPE rooftop deck. I need some sort of barricade installed to keep my 20-lb dog in my section. I am not concerned about privacy. I've thought of long planter boxes but for the number I'd need, those are very pricey and with dirt, etc - I worry about weight. I also thought about installing a 3.5' fence with a gate, but that is even more expensive and I am not sure how it can be attached securely without damaging the roof or the decking. Any ideas?

Not a bad idea! The issue is I don't think I could keep that up all summer due to wind, etc and I am not sure I'd want to set it up and take it down every time I want to sit up there. But I am keeping it in mind. Thank you!

The portable ones are so nice because you just set it down and turn it on. With your odd shaped set-up, it’s probably the easiest solution.

What about a "portable" fence, something that you can roll out and then tuck away next to your building for winter. Of course a much scaled down version of the photo :)

Thanks - that's an interesting idea. I'd need a lot, so I am no sure how easy it would be to tuck away - but it's something for me to think about. :)
