Why is my Tradescantia fluminensis dying? Help! :(

Hello!

My wandering jew plant has been doing pretty well up until about two weeks ago. The leaves are remaining in tact, but the stem is turning brown/black and dying, causing it to snap/break in that spot. Some of the leaves are also browning at the tips/edges. Otherwise, many of the other vines look healthy. It is next to a west facing window and gets bright indirect light for most of the day. It is in a 4” pot with drainage holes, so maybe it needs a larger pot? I water it about once a week, or when the top of the soil gets dry. It has not yet been fertilized, but I’ve probably had it for about a month and a half. Should I cut off the drooping ends to save the plant? Thank you for any help you guys can offer! :)
