I'm a skeptic..I'm not convinced that the elephant photo isn't photoshopped..still fun to see..

one of my many NOIDs..it's the one in the center of the photo..a nice mound..blueish..not the same as a typical green..I like it whatever it is..

I zoomed and cropped to create a close up..it's not new..I'd guess 5? 7? years..I don't remember if it's ever bloomed..the blooms must be ordinary..

oursteelers yours look a tad like Night Shift but the flowers are wrong.

Steve, I have an Academy Fire that is a very distinct chartreuse color which I love. I compared Academy Fire to Patriot's Fire and see similarities. Info on the database states that they resemble each other. The color is unlike anything else I've seen. I may even have a picture of it on my home computer. I'll take a look this weekend and see what I can find.

Moonlight, that's the one.

Night Shift has a thin green border and mine gets very yellow.

It is a sport from Daybreak which is a medium - large. In mostly shade (eastern exposure, right next to the house and under trees), mine looks chartreuse, but I've only had it a couple years. They both have wide roundish leaves with great veins.

So many green with a yellow turning cream edge, it's hard to tell.

here is moonlight and patriots fire growing next to each other ... i dont know what the camera was doing ... its was a cheap low tech thing from long ago ...

moonlight is paulines ... i discussed these two with bruce when he visited ... he wondered if pauline shared moonlight with alex summers.. and a decade later ... he forgot and renamed it ... and thats all i remember ... if i didnt dream it up ...

i got the PF from jim hawkes who got it from alex.. and claimed it was OS ....

im not sure.. but i might have got the ML from bruce ... which mean it was also OS .. but i will have to look that up.. if i can ...

btw .. alex and pauline were founding members of the ahs

Ken and steve, when looking to ID my yellow one above, I first thought it might be Patrit’s Fire or Moonlight, but it really appears to be neither......true NOID.

They both get a variable but distinctive dark green edge between the chartreuse leaf and white edge. If it doesn't get that, then you're right! If it does, I don't know of any other Hosta that has it. But there's a lot I've never seen, lol. Here's another pic that shows it better, but you still have to look for it..

You know Steve, my Little NOID above has some of that dark green between the chartreuse leaf and white edge, but the plant is so small....never gotten any bigger. The database says it’s medium to large and rapid to grow. So even though mine looks a bit like PF, I’m not sure. In the library mine does resemble the 5th picture. What do you think?

My PF shrunk noticeably after its first year. So maybe there's a version that doesn't grow rapidly. Get a better picture of it this year to be sure.
