Clematis with Windmill Palm?

last modified: 5 years ago

The question of using trees as a support structure for Clematis has been asked and answered many times on here, but my question is specifically about Clems and Windmill Palms. Has anyone tried this? Any complications or reasons not to do it?I've had Jackmanni superbra for 5 years and it's great, but I was thinking about expanding. My local nursery has several varieties but I think Comtesse De Bouchard Clematis or Pink Champagne would go best in this spot, which is mostly full sun beside the shade from the palm canopy. I'm in 8a Texas.
