Looking to add a historic/vintage backsplash to my new kitchen. Originally planned on subway tile, but thinking I want to go more vintage than that and try this florid lantern tile in white with warm grey grout. The cabinets are off white and is grey/white quartz. There will be a wood rounded 12 inch shelf between the window and the cabinet for curios (like those planters)

looking for your opinions on tile choice (subway vs this florid) as well as how to go about this corner to the mixer. Should I go as high as the window with tile, to the same level as under the cabinets? Or not at all over here by the mixer (though I’ll be cooking here)?
