One problem with pulling the cabinets out is that cabinets need to be attached to the wall. You will likely lose a lot of stability if you move them away from the wall (and/or you need someone with installation experience to build some sort of frame that allows connection between the cabinet backs and the walls). I would not do that.

You never order deeper cabinets you just run horizontal rails (flat 2 x 4’s) on the wall and fasten to that. Deeper countertop and end panels. You just have to be aware of how it effects the rest of the layout but it’s done all the time.

Here the pics. Thing is upper between fridge and stove is extended to 15" to hold smart oven.

Jdesign, this is what worries me too, we are centering sink at the window on long leg of L. I willl check with cabinet people how design might shift.

Would it be too weird just to extend that single base between fridge and range and keep everything the same?
Patricia, I have replaced old fridge with this one and generally agree people do not need much of refrigerator space. I do have large freezer in lower level too so splurging on really skinny fridge was not in cards.

Salex, it can be a problem, we ar DIY people and I have installed previous kitchen. My house was old so I think we ended with deeper counters unintentionally.

I have deeper cabinets. Totally worth it if you have the space. Not just for the fridge but for the extra counter space and the extra DRAWER space. Get real deep ones if possible instead of standard pulled out (which is still better than not).

I recommend pulling (or extending) upper cabinets as much as lower so you don't lose reachable space, especially if household members are children or short adults.

Absolutely order 'em deeper if you can!
