Our new pergola patio

My husband and Needed some shade over an existing 16x26 deck, so after 1000 pergola designs and the help of lowes and Home Depot, he and I built a 19 x 24' pergola over a poured concrete slab and porcelain tile laid over it. We absolutely love it. I still add touch up to it, and will be ordering some green outdoor curtains to match the furniture.

It is awesome! What type of material did you use on the top of the pergola?

For the top we used the white vinyl lattice panels from lowes. 6x6 treated posts. Runners are 2x8 12" a part. I designed a end cap for the runners, my husband cut them out with a jig saw. We knotched the ends so the runners would fit snug into the double support beams which are 2 x 10s. The tile I chose is porcelain 13x13 square. And used 4x8 Roth stones from lowes as well to form the pillars

This is the front of our home here in Kentucky. We have done a lot of remodeling, but we love it. My hibiscus in full bloom by the patio, the stone I chose to match with our brick home and tile. We used a masonry chaulk adhesive to hold together. They will not come apart. I capped the top off with pavers. The last picture is Annie our 9 month old saint bermastiff. Weighing in at 100 lbs so far. That is the reason we put the fence up around the pergola, to keep her and our boxador off or it would be disastrous. Haha. Hope you enjoy the photos. Any questions, feel free to ask me

Finally got some of my curtains in. I chose lowes Solaris kiwi panels 54" x 96". Love them. Will be adding to other sides next. On back blind, we watch movies on a projecter for a drive- in kinda night, but without the noise.

Webber48.... this is amazing!!!! You have a lot to be proud of! I would love to have this in my backyard and get rid of the metal overhang!

I shared these photos only for ideas not criticism. I did not want the traditional 2 x 2 runners on top. The vinyl lattice is maintenance free, last forever, plus gives me just the right amount shade that I want. But thanks for taking the time to look

Gosh, I love it! We have also been thinking about building a pergola for some sun shelter in the backyard. I like that this is free-standing...ours would be a little distance from the house. I had been thinking that I would have to either weave some sun blocking fabric panels through the beams on top or else plant some Caroline Jessamine vines to train over the top, cuz no way could we stand the sun otherwise...now I have the lattice idea to mull over as well! What you should love most about your pergola is that it is DONE, haha!

we have friends who built a pergola for grapes which is also over their seating area. it's very nice and they use it all the time. Before the vines were big enough to produce, she got fake grape lights for them and it was really very pretty at night, but hilarious in the daytime :) I was just thinking that your pergola is a wonderful place to put lights up if you wanted, perhaps not fake grapes though :)

Mousemaker, I do have rope light around the perimeter of the pergola. I also have solar globes hanging up between sections when we don't have the rope lights on. I have a projector up to watch movies at night. Thanks for the suggestion
