Why do they need to be changed. You probably don't want to make them visually dominate the front view of the house - or do you?

Hard to see from pictures, but paint keeps chipping off each year. We are thinking of adding some pop with the new ones.

I'd go with having windows in the top panels. Changing the color of the trim, or the doors themselves, would add some 'pop', but not match the rest of the house. I'd think you'd want to do something with the shrubbery and other plantings between the garage and front door, instead (i.e. add some color).
