PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!

I have been stuck on what to do with this wall in our dining room. The ceilings are 10 ft high and we were going to build a tall built in but was too expensive. I was thinking a sideboard with things above it but can't find anything that works. We want to put a sofa table behind the couch and find something new for this wall. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

Just get a nice big painting- landscape or abstract- looks like you need 60" square

I agree. Add art over the buffet. The picture near your table seems to be in an odd spot, because it does relate to any large piece of furniture. You don't need to fill empty spots with pictures. Some bare wall space is good.

I think that picture may look good over your buffet.

You may get more interest and activity in your thread if the title were more descriptive e.g. "How do I decorate above dining room buffet?"

My husband painted two paintings on the wall next to it and I was worried it would be too many large paintings in that area. I was also debating a taller cabinet but they were all around 80 in tall and seemed like so much dead space on top of it which is why I was leaning towards something shorter with height on top. Our table and floors are dark wood so was stuck on the color.

if there is anything else you would change, I won't be offended! (I hate our couch and one day want to replace)

    Wow really cool!!
I’d possibly consider removing the art from that wall that its on now. Add that to the dresser wall. And maybe do a wallpaper above the wall paneling in the dining room.

Ignore the height of the wall, and decorate the room as if it had a 8 foot ceiling because that's where the eye will rest. Every wall doesn't need art work.

Lots of neutrals in your room, and a fair number of smallish decor items. I think your room would look good with an accent colour. Hard to see your rug but it looks as if it may have a soft blue or rust colour? Pick one of the colours and repeat it liberally in the room. Bonus if it's a significant colour in one of the paintings. For example, solid pillow covers for all your pillows, a throw, spray paint your off-white lamp. Remove some of the smaller decor items.

I would repeat the wainscotting on the buffet wall. The open rooms flow together.

How about a large mirror above the buffet? I would not repeat more artwork there.

Or... maybe open shelving with large decor, above the buffet.
