This is the Hosta. These leves broke off.

Any more info? size of plant, color of bloom, how old it may be, how common or uncommon. It looks like the leaves have a little twist to them which is common in undulata univittata which is one of the most common ones out there that look like this, although the variable white center is usually a bit more narrow.

Color Festival if new, fancy. Undulata most likely, as Ken said.

with any pic.. throw in a scale .. anything we might recognize .. lighter ... lipstick ... hand.. etc... plz.. no feet ... if for no other reason .... thats make it a straight down pic .. and those usually arent good ....

do you know anything about it... has it been around 50 years .. or did someone recently ... in the last few years... pay a premium for a brand new state of the art hosta???

I am interested in buying Color Festival, I saw it on a program called Gardening Smart on PBS when they visited Sebright Gardens. Sebright is the hybridizer right? Does anyone have pictures of Color Festival in their garden? I've bought quite a few hostas from Sebright and they always send huge plants with enormous roots and the packaging is probably the best I've ever had with mail order plants.

Just looked back over the alphabet and saw both mbug and Beth posted pictures of Color Festival, it's a definite yes for me.

If it is a newer one, it reminds me of Cool as a Cucumber.

I'll have to ask, Ken. She always gives me plants. Shes actually my cousin.

Ken is right about it probably being Undulata. That one is super common, often sold at Walmart and Lowe’s-type garden centers at an affordable price, with a generic label of Hosta. I frequently saw Color Festival for sale at Lowe’s, too. Yours appears to have the typical glossy/shiny leaves of Undulata.
