Quartz kitchen countertop

We are a conservative Indian family with a lot of south Indian vegetarian cooking. I want to know if quartz kitchen counter top is good. My concern is that we have a cook and she uses the kitchen in a rough way, especially offloading hot vessels directly from the stove to the platform. would the quartz counter be able to withstand such usage? Any experience with such scenarios or should I go in for granite slab ? I like the cream colour and hence unable to decide on granite because cream colour granite isn’t there, if I am not mistaken.

The only countertops I would feel comfortable putting a hot pan directly on is soapstone or stainless steel.

Everything else can be damaged or discolored by extreme heat.

You need a restaurant style kitchen, adapted to home use. Stainless work tables and open storage.

This lady used her engineered stone top for an ironing board and a steam iron is a lot less hot than a pot taken directly from the stove:

I realize its out of fashion but we have had not problems with hot pans and our tile counters.
