I watched a video on dividing, but I'm too afraid I'll mess it up!!

never do anything.. just for the heck of it.. or because you had a dream .. lol ...

a plant will let you know when it needs repotting ...

potting media .... wears out over time.. think of it as a water management system.. holding enough water for the specific plant.. and draining or shedding excess .. presuming the pot has drain holes ..

so when you plant starts to seem to not be getting enough water.. wither the media is getting old and worn out.. or the plant has filled the entire pot with roots.. and there is no media left.. God knows where it goes. but it just seems to diappear .. lol ...

the usual rule.. id just pot up to the next size .. you dont jump pot sizes too fast ...

its a plant.. i hope you arent hyper fertilizing it ... its not a child that need to be fed all that often ... is that a reason why its growing like its 1999?? .. and the reason i ask .... is another reason for problems.. is when fertilizer salts build up in the media in the pot.. and when you arent drenching it and letting excess fert and water run out the bottom.. it can lead to other problems ... especially if the media is wearing out ...

oh.. and you divide it.. when the next pot has to be a 55 gallon drum.. lol .. at some point you either divide it.. or you move to have a larger living room because its taking over ..

so.. in summation your honor.. dont fix whats not broken,.. dont dream up jobs you dont need to do.. dont love it to death.. and just water it properly.. its looks gorgeous.. dont wreck it now ...
