Starter Fertz for Annuals

Do you guys put some Starter Fertz in your Annual Plantings. I never have. I just take them out of the liner, make a hole, box cutter the roots and plant them in.

IF I happen to be watering the potted with some liquid fertz and am feeling energetic, I will make up a larger batch of liquid fertz and give the annual plants some liquid fertz. All my annuals ever get is whatever H20 the drip provides.

This year, for the 1st time ever, for all my annual plantings, I did put some -starter fertz- in the hole for each one. Whether or not this helps them establish quicker or come to full height/width earlier -- to be observed.

The biggest difference I've noticed when planting annuals is -all bout the roots-. When I'm splurged and planted the 1qt sized annuals, for sure, the larger rootball did help in earlier establishment/faster bed fill earlier into the season.
