@floral_uk z.8/9 SW UK and @mad_gallica (z5 Eastern NY) , came from South Carolina (fastgrowingtrees.com) and went to Kansas. Looks like it was shipped on April 27th and arrived today (May 1st).

talk to your seller ... quality nurseries have state level requirements to sell 'clean' stock ... and i would expect clean stock to be sent ... and to be clear.. a boo boo on a leaf is not indicativee its not clean ...

with the advent of all these sites that dont bother with state Ag rules .. well.. what can i say ..

i hope you potted it up.. if it was bare root.. and placed it in shade for a week or two.. so it can de stress from everything.. and dont plant it in brilliant hot sun .. find a rainy or cloudy day to do it... just because you get your hands on something.. doesnt mean it the best planting time ...

Doesn't look that bad to me. These shrubs are not grown for their foliage, which is soft and easily bruised or damaged. Plant them and let them get established. I bet that they will be fine.

@Sara Malone Zone 9b Thank you! I appreciate the reassurance. This shrub is so important to me because it reminds me of my grandmother's home, which was surrounded with the most gorgeous mockorange blooms.

Once it’s established and growing happily it will provide you with as many mock oranges as you want. They’re very simple to grow from cuttings.
