Are your roses grafted on Dr.Huey? What's your soil type? Sandy, loamy, or clay? How much rainfall per year? Thanks for any info. as to the health & vigor of your roses.

I try to figure out why my Young Lycidas grafted on Dr.Huey died through its first zone 5 winter. And it was very wimpy, like 1/2 foot tall in its 1st year. Not sure if my clay is too dense, or too much acidic rain here.

That's beautiful. I have a grafted plant of it which is doing pretty well but not as well as yours. I don't see much in the way of buds on it so far this spring but do see some new growth. That's a nice pink, not washed out.

I love your video with the bird song! And the roses, of course, are gorgeous. What a pretty pink. How does it compare to Olivia in terms of size, fragrance? I think you said Olivia's blooms last longer.

Deborah, Oliva's blooms do last longer, they are slightly smaller but bloom way more frequently. Both have just very mild fragrance. Olivia grows neater, shorter canes.

How many do you have? And would you recommend growing it in an obelisk to help keep its shape a little more upright//tidy?

Hi Liz, it has been blooming very little fo rme. I don't know how it bloomed that much in that video but I wouldn't recommend it if your climate is anything like mine.

Hoang Ton I graduated from FSU, but I am 1,000 miles away. Someday before I check out, I would anticipate tripping through Tallahassee, and would be honored if I could view your rose gardens. It won't be this year.

Mark, absolutely but keep in mind that my garden looks the best only around mid to late April and late November, and if the weather and insects don't ruin it lol. This spring my garden is inferior when compared to last year because of the sub 20 degree that we had and the thrips...
