Need help decorating my newly renovated basement space.

I feel like there are so many things that are clashing or look washed out and I didn't realize the floor lamp would be so tall... It really looked so much better in my head, but I'm trying to go for a minimalistic/scandinavian style with a dark/rusty pink as an accent color. The leather accent chair and wooden coffee table were suggestions by a friend, but I don't know if they look right with everything. I also just ordered a new rug to replace the rug on top. I honestly am so lost and don't know what I'm doing lol.

or, try a lamp like this. BTW, did you knwo you can top your console w/a piece of lumber? just cut it to fit and use adhesive to set. style like shown here.

You need a much longer arc lamp so it can arc across rhe room but your ceiling height and small upper window might always be in the way of an optimal look

I like what you have done so far, but I would change out the floor lamp for a lower one or table lamps. It is making the ceiling look lower. I would switch out the coffee table for a lower table. Your sofa has a low profile and the table should reflect this too. I would also either make the wall straight ahead an accent wall with a board & batten feature or get some huge art work. Add some accessories on the table and maybe a plant in the corner. It will be beautiful.

I think I would lay the furniture in a different arrangement. It looks like it cuts off an area of the basement. Unless maybe that was intentional?
But I think I’d put the sectional against the wall. Get another leather chair. Rotate the coffee table. The rugs you have now are workable. I’d skip the new one and use the budget elsewhere. Are both of those your rugs? Or are you returning? I love the bottom rug. And I think it’ll look great plain! Pillows are awesome. Beauty! And yes return the lamp and go for something more rattan... love Beth’s suggestion!

Don't overthink this one -- accessories and artwork will make a big difference. Bring in rose gold and light orange colors -- pink if you want to add a touch of something softer.
