What do I do with this wall above the fireplace. Any decor ideas.
What is that? Did it used to be a fireplace?
What does the rest of this area/room look like? If possible, I would consider moving TV to wall opposite FP, putting sofa and end table with lamps in front of the FP wall.
Need ideas for my empty wall above fireplace/tv
What would you put on this granite wall above fireplace
Help! How should I decorate this wall above the fireplace?
cover up recessed wall above fireplace
It used to be a fireplace. It was closed down by previous owner. The room is next to the kitchen. Can it be used like a dining space. There is fireplace in the family room adjacent to this
Is removing all the masonry there an option? If so, that’s what I’d do, and replace with drywall. I understand that may be cost-prohibitive, but don’t know your budget.
Never mind on the above, it’d probably be impossible to find floor tiles to match after removing the hearth.
Ok, then I’d paint the little bookshelf to match the masonry, or better yet, put a fireplace screen in front of it to pretend it’s still a fireplace. Is the TV staying?
Can you post the kitchen side view? Sounds like yes, it could be a nice dining room, depending on how the rooms are connected and what your needs are.
Thanks for the ideas. Here are the pictures from the kitchen side view .
Thank you! I think since you already have a dining area right there, you don’t need another ... unless you moved your table to the fireplace room and did a small sitting area in between. Or turned both rooms into one large dining area (since the tile connects them). It really depends on your family’s needs. My choice would be keep both rooms as is (look up “hearth rooms”, but I’m not living there. :)
