Does anyone have recommendation of where to find loamy soil in Texas? I moved to San Antonio and found the soil unworkable. Most people grow in raised beds. Much of the Hill Country (Fredricksberg and Kerville) seem to have a similar problem as San Antonio although there are some pockets that grow grapes and peaches. South Texas (Poteet) I hear has sandy soil and does not retain nutrients. Are are areas in east Texas that has good soil?
