It's been a sporting season...kinda...

In going around the yard looking at how things are progressing, I can't help but notice signs of sporting, largely in the hyacinthina family. Such as for instance this one developing on a large clump of 'Striptease'.

And it's not the only one going off-script on this clump, here's one on the opposite side..

Then there's a 'Captain Kirk' doing funny things...

Not to be outdone there is a subtle sign of sporting on a 'Rhino Gold'...subtle, but there nonetheless.

Time will tell of course if any of these will amount to anything, keeping fingers crossed...

"a sporting season" is true for me!..at least 3 of my hosta are going "off-script" - love your expression..I'm not sure if the new look is an improvement..

Improvement or not, its still fun to see. This spring seems sportier than usual to me.

Wow! Everyone has sports! I have to get out and get a closer look At my yard. It’s been below average temps again. Reluctant to go out.....rainy and chilly. Some areas predicting frost again. I should be spared, I hope. Only predicting 35 in my area for a couple of hours.

Ugh, this spring has turned cold and wet. Not sure the plants are very happy about it, nor am I. Currently predicting 32F Tuesday night and 33F Wednesday night. We tend to be 2 - 3 degrees warmer here, so the plants are on their own. Maybe that will mean even more sports coming!

I found another sport..the leaf to the right of the sport is damaged? or deformed?..this cold spring has been tough on my hostas..look at my sad Blue Angel..
flawed but the leaves are large..a dandelion bloom looks small..
