When to apply milky spore?

Bought some a few months ago. I've read where they suggest May as one of the months for treatment - but also, if I'm correct, the ground should be above 65 degrees. We've had unseasonably cool weather here in PA, so thinking to wait a few weeks yet? I've never used this stuff before but thought it'd be worth a try to maybe cut down on the japanese beetle damage that occurs here every summer. Getting tired of seeing the yard look like fall in mid-July already from all the dead birch leaves.

Fall is actually a better time to apply as the grubs are actively feeding then. And it will take several seasons before you notice any appreciable decline in Japanese beetles. It is not a fast process.

if it takes years to show impact.. to me.. that means it doesnt disappear ... so does it really matter when it is applied??? ...i speculate.. and am looking for the answer.. not stating logic as fact ..

im usually one talking about delayed gratification ... spend less fro smaller plants.. and buy more plants ... but i never considered this stuff.. because when i had the problem.. i wanted immediate impact.. not years later ...

a lot of these bugs are cyclical in population explosions.. so you wonder if you will even need it 3 years in the future ...
