Traditional!

Lovely home, congratulations! Looks like they are going for “modern farmhouse,” especially the light fixtures. It’s a very transitional look and decor can pretty eclectic. Just avoid edgy modern, midcentury modern, or anything uber-trad. Victorian sofa? = no. Chesterfield sofa? = sure. Glass tables, yes. Glass with chrome, probably not. Braided rugs, oriental rugs, or bright modern rugs, but not Aubusson rugs. That kinda thing. It’s a great space. Have fun.

That’s actually really helpful because I was leaning towards a glass table with chrome legs. I haven’t seen many glass tables without chrome legs actually... but I’ll start looking! I’d like to avoid all types of farmhouse to any extent possible.

you could always lean more modern than 'farmy'. Your quartz countertop is modern. The 2nd living room pic I posted leans more modern.

if you want to bring in darker earthy tones, you could do this.

or, lighter tones/textures like this.

you do currently have a more traditional fireplace surround though. You could opt to remove that mantle and do something a bit more modern, if you like that type of look

and using the same quartz as your kitche, take it up another notch

consider painting out the window trim in black, redo the surround a bit, and you'll get this look
