in my z5 MI ... we havent even planted the new stuff yet.. because we are not frost/freeze proof yet ... so i suspect on some level.. all thats the matter is your expectations ... chill.. they will come ... sooner or later .. or next year ...

lets see a pic ... and we can go from there ...

a perennials.. is started form a seed or cutting.. or whatever.. the first year it grows a root mass ... so that the second year.. it can start growing the plant.. and hopefully the flowers the second year ... we dont know if you bought first year plants.. or second year plants ....

in other words.. a perennial might not achieve sexual maturity until year two.. and that would be the production of flowers and seeds ...

Other than the lupines, it is too early in the season for the other perennials to be in bloom. Garden phlox should be next (midsummer) and cone flowers and black eyed Susan mid-late summer into fall.

Patience, grasshopper. You’ve got a full season ahead to wait for many of these to bloom.
