When my house is finished being built (who knows when that will be!! LOL!).....it will be a small farm style home and the interior is neutral with whites, grays, tans, golds and few pops of color. Open floor plan and I have tan linen drapes/curtains I plan to use with rings (like pic below).... I had them in my previous house and loved the curtains, but I was using the honeycomb shades and hated them! They were supposed to be easy up/down no cord, but they were a pain in the butt... So now that I know I don't want honeycomb shades, I'm considering roller shades, but also love the look of roman shades, but think it may be to much w/the linen curtains.

So, here are my questions: 1. Are roller shades "out" or dated? 2. Anyone have suggestions on best brand @ best price? 2. Any suggestions on other shades to consider?

My budget keeps shrinking due to all the tremendous building cost increases lately... Geesh! :(
