There is no concern about dividing and relocating now. And if they are replanted promptly with old foliage still intact, there should be no lessening of flowering next spring.

Brownout will be exponentially happen though - aka, less food ? Or as in my informal test of the handful I did with and promptly putting them into a pot, they browned out fairly quick

Bulbs are deep.

They have shifted at least 5" deeper into the soil I think.

Sure between the mulch+humus+soil it's a smidge more than originally planted

But I think the roots have have pulled them back more deepter into the soil.

EDIT - A good old fork was able to get these out with a pull on the green with no turning over of the soil. You should have seen me with the trowel 3 weeks earlier removing them in singles. Soil was a bit more wet, I gotta say , but even with blade+handle at 12" deep, it was not getting under the bulbs and some more finger/hand digging was required
