Do they sell Miracle Gro in Mexico? The all-purpose formulation has a 3:1:2 ratio (24-8-16) and also offers almost all the micros as does Foliage Pro. About as close as you can get :-)

I know pre-pandemic they did, and then people said it was hard to find. I’m going to look!

Ariel - If by chance you were looking for NPK %s of 3-1-2, it's highly unlikely you'll find it. Many manufacturers package a granular soluble fertilizer with NPK %s of 24-8-16 which is a 3:1:2 ratio, as Pam mentioned. Miracle-Gro also packages a liquid soluble fertilizer with NPK %s of 12-4-8, another 3:1:2 ratio product.

Foliage-Pro gets the nod for most appropriate of the field because it contains ALL nutrients essential to normal growth in an appropriate ratio (even the micro-nutrients), and it gets none of its nitrogen from urea, which can be hard on plants during cool weather and when the grow medium tends to remain soggy (ammonium toxicity). Nitrate sources of nitrogen aren't an issue when the medium stays wet and nitrate tends to produce finer growth; that is to say, smaller leaves and shorter internodes which makes for a fuller and more compact plant.

Foliage-Pro 9-3-6 is an outstanding product, worth looking/waiting for, but Pam is right in that 24-8-16 (or 12-4-8) are rightly considered the best substitutes.

It's crazy to me that out of so many fertilizers only two have balanced nutrient ratios. Even most hydroponics solutions with all the micros usually have more P or K than N, which doesn't seem to make sense.

I did actually just find another one though: Botanicare CNS17 Grow. Never used it or heard anything about it but they've got the 3-1-2 and micros (though I'm not sure if it's all of them).

I should be able to find something. I’d like the Dyna-Gro, but if not, I know I can get MiracleGro on MercadoLibre & I’ll look for Botanicare.

In the past, I had friends who would come down from Arizona bring me the Dyna-Gro in their car, but they’ve moved to San Miguel.
