I think you're looking for problems again, Heruga. Why would scale insects crawl onto you when you offer no food for them? Why would the winged males seek you out since you’re not a female scale insect? Even if a few did end up on you after being dislodged from their previous anchorage, would you then go home and immediately start cuddling up against potential hosts long enough for a dazed and disorientated insect to crawl onto them? Relax.

I mean if I ended up having some stuck in my shirt, hair, or shoes and somehow stayed on me during my commute home and then once I arrive home and if those scales came off me and end up on my driveway or doorway or on the mulch, won’t they start seeking for food until they find one?

Listen to floral. You are worrying unnecessarily. These creatures do not travel any significant distance even when on a plant. They are sure not to go about any hiking expeditions from your garage or driveway!!

They’ll probably be long dead by the time they’ve been blown or knocked off their original home, survived the commute home, fallen from you to the ground, and then laboriously crawled across the yard to your seedlings. And that’s only if they are actually at the crawler stage. the adult females are pretty sedentary and the males would only fly onto your plants if there were already females there. It’s just incredibly unlikely and really not worth worrying about. And what do you propose is the alternative? You cannot eliminate every single tiny, unlikely, hypothetical risk.
