How do you ventilate an indoor swim spa?

My wife & I would like to have a swim spa in an exercise room inside our new house in Cincinnati. We are worried about how to properly ventilate it. The HVAC system from the rest of the house won’t be connected to this room. We have heard advice all over the map….from the inexpensive: we’ll just need a good cover, a small portable dehumidifier and a proper exhaust fan system….to the very expensive: we’ll need a $20-25K Desert Aire commercial system. Another question that concerns us is whether other exercise equipment will be OK to put in the room without worry of corrosion or other damage. Can anyone point me to someone who can give us some sound advice on this?

FYI – when opened the swim spa open water surface will be somewhere around 7’ x 13’. One side of the room will be a wall of 6’ high casement windows.

Hey Franco! Thanks for the feedback! Do you have experience designing ventilation specs for such a room or do you know someone who has that kind of experience who I can pay to help me?

A Desert Aire or something equivalent will be the only thing that will solve your issue.

An exhaust fan and a dehumidifier won't do squat. Anything in that room will be subject to moisture and will rot or corrode away.

Thanks Mystic Pools! The exercise room that the swim spa will be in is 15' x 27' with 9' ceilings. How much do you think I would spend on a Desert Aire system that would do the job? Are there competitors to Desert Aire which would perform equally well and last equally as long at a lower price?

I have no idea on the pricing. Desert Aire has area dealers you can reach out to.
