Design Within Reach Sial Rugs

I furnished my home with six expensive Sial rugs (white) that are manufactured for and sold by Design Within Reach. These rugs have proven to be a bad purchase for a variety of reasons. First and foremost they are a disaster around pets who occasionally have accidents, such as vomiting. The Sial rugs contain Viscose, which I learned is made from wood cellulose. As a result, they are impossible to clean; water will leave a brown stain that is nearly impossible to remove. The same is true for most spot rug cleaners. The Sial rug also does not hold up to moderate use as the rug's fibers are relatively fragile. Shame on DWR for not warning its customers that the rug is impossible to maintain. Avoid the Sial rug like the plague.

Hopefully you can get some satisfaction. Their website says the warranty is for a year.

I have a viscose rug that I've cleaned away cat vomit. try a little oxyclean spray or powder and see if it works.

a lot of times the dye in pet food can make stains worse, but I've always removed it without issue.

Thanks for your suggestions. The DWR warranty doesn't cover pet stains. I tried different types of spot cleaners with little success. I had one of my carpets professionally cleaned, and the spot is still visible. A white/light carpet that contains viscose is asking for trouble. I am in the process of replacing the carpets with ones that are easier to clean. Expensive lesson learned.

I had the same problem. A guest spilled a cup of water on the carpet and I thought it was no big deal. After it dried the spot turned yellow. I used a high-end carpet cleaner and it still cannot remove it. The fibers are very fragile, every time I vacuumed the carpet, the amount of fiber loss worried me. I love the look of Sial, but it is definitely more of a showpiece than a functional one.
