You can’t really separate those two rooms with paint, but you could better define them with two area rugs.

Yeah one has carpet and laminate vinyl is darker in dining/kitchen area. Going to make that lighter to open up space, so will do rugs once living room carpet is up, too. Any suggestions for paint colors?

Were you thinking orange OR blue? Pick your area rugs first and your paint last. Get some throw pillows too and then decide on your wall color(s). Since your sofa and wood furniture both have grayish undertones, I would go with blue, not orange, however. Also, it would be helpful to see pictures of your adjoins spaces (kitchen).

Add colr in the room, not on the walls. Rugs, furniture, pillows, etc.
