And this is a seedling I grew from some of Celeste’s seeds. It is SC Francis Busby x Kitty Bannerman. I like the color. (Boy, growing seedlings is hard work!!! Kudos to those of you who do it!!)

I'm glad you had some that opened today. I wasn't so lucky. Maybe tomorrow. My favorites of these are Simplicity in Motion and Cameroon Night. I love it when Cameroon Night looks that dark and more purple than red. I haven't gotten tired of Come Sail Away yet. I can see why you like it so much.

Do post Come Sail Away as much as you like, such a pretty one. Love that seedling, it may be my favorite 2nd fav after Come Sail Away. Nice clumps, I don't often go for that color, but something about Simplicity in Motion keeps making ne look again

Debra, I agree about Cameroon Night. It can pull out that reddish color in the sun. It is planted close to a tree in dappled shade all day so when the planets aligned with shade and cool weather it really showed that purple. Here is a single.

Nice post, Kate. You can post Come Sail Away every day; I really like it. That deep color on Cameroon night is wonsdderful, And, I love your seedling. Beautiful color! simplicity is a pretty one too.

Nancy, I had to really go outside my comfort zone to try different forms other than my favorite, the full bagel look but Simplicity in Motion has that look I do like-that flowing not messy look!

And I do like that seedling but I don’t like all that work that goes with getting it there!! Haha! And i did not even have to work with the pollination part!

The deep velvet purple on Camaroon Nights is a jewel. I also like Daringly Different in your picture. It looks peachy with a lavender halo in your cooler weather. A color combination I like........... And I recognize something I've only read about this month it seems - SUNLIGHT. The weatherman came on tonight and said we only had 3 days in May when the sun was out all day. 3 days! My DH says it's like living in Seattle. How depressing..........Maryl

Glad you got some warmer temps. These are very good. pics. I like the seedling and I agree, growing them is hard work. I doubt I will dabble in that again. But don't quote me on that. LOL. Lovely pic of Cameroon Night but I see it is an evergreen so I would never be able to grow it with success. Yours looks fantastic with that deep color. Come Sail Away always strikes me as something I would pick. Nice photo. Is it in the ground or pot?

WOW......Kate! You and I made a 'baby' together....LOL. I was pleased to see your picture of this cross since I kept a few seeds for myself and the seedlings should bloom this summer. It is so very pretty and has a wonderful color. Exactly what I had in mind when making the cross. I am excited to see Come Sail Away since I just acquired mine but not sure if I will see blooms since it already bloomed down south. (Maybe it will rebloom?). I have been away from the forum as my family has had a run of bad luck the past few months.....so many things....husband & grandson were on the motorcycle and were hit by a pickup truck on the highway. Long recovery for hubby (knee was shattered) and he can't work but thank God our grandson had minor injuries. We were also sick from Covid and lost my father-in-law to it. Lost our beloved kitty Kiko to cancer. I have been really busy with taking over all my husband's chores plus all my gardens and getting hundreds of seedlings planted out. I just haven't had time to comment but I am enjoying all your photos! Hoping that once July rolls around and my blooms start up I can join in.

Oh Celeste i have been wondering about you! Bless you. So many sad events. But I am so glad your husband and grandson survived what could have been so much worse. And so sorry about your father in law. COVID took some very dear friends of mine. And to lose your baby Kiko as well. I know you are super busy but hope to see your new seedlings in July. Hugs to you in these trying times. I will be interested in see the color on your Come Sail Away in your climate. I think you will love it!

I have laughed every time I see a bloom from this cross. The others have been yellow and orange!

Julia, yes, it is in a pot. I always pot my new ones in spring if they come in early while the garden is still mud. And while they are usually in ground by now, these Pierce plants have flourished so well in their pots I may wait until fall to plant in ground.

Kate, I hope you will keep posting pics of 'our' seedlings. I will have to wait till July to see my results so I am living vicariously through you....lol. So much suspense waiting for seedlings to bloom and so exciting every day! Yes, it has been a very difficult last 3 months but we are getting through it as best we can. Hubby can't get unemployment compensation since he is self-employed and his business is going downhill while he is out. His brother is the only one holding down the fort but cannot do the repairs which is most of their business. Hubby is still not able to put any weight on that leg but has started physical therapy. Looking forward to next month when all my daylilies will be blooming.....that will lift my spirits. Thank you for your kind words.
