Just a gorgeous clump of Clown Parade. Golden Globe has a unique color combination.I looked it up and see they registered its color as brownsh gold. Do you see that in your blooms? A beautiful post and only wish I could grow here Thomas Tew but it is an evergreen and not sure it would survive.

BTW, just got in from doing a garden check and see that Clown Parade has 3 scapes barely starting.Hurray!! Going today to the local nursery with my wish list of perennials and its long.. Suppose to rain today, tomorrow and Friday. Good for the plants but bad for getting the rest of the front garden done.The cicadas are horrible here and a big nusiance when working outside. We have to check our clothes before coming into the house. Hopefully their mating will end by the end of this month.

Julia, to me the color is not brown but a pale bronze with reddish tints if that makes sense! Like most polychromes it looks like a bunch of colors were thrown in and swirled around! But I would never call any of them brown!

What perennials are you adding? Always liked your perennial setup in NY. Rain here too but much needed. Can’t wait to see your gardens!!!

All the clumps look fantastic, and they all tie for my favorite. The one I like best among the non-clumps is Pistachio Eyes.

My favorite is Clown Parade, mine is probably a week from bloom, looking forward to it. Golden Globe is such an interesting color. I have one that looks sort of like it, love the blooms but it needs more blooms on it. Your clump photos are so nice, I keep going back and looking. I am envious right now, but probably by this time next week I will be seeing more bloom. I walked around this morning, hardly anything is blooming today so I can feel really good about getting rain. We really need it.

Beautiful post, Kate. Golden Globe is gorgeous and my favorite today followed by Clown Parade; Nice intense colors. Hernando Star is very impressive in a clump and, of course, Thomas Tew is always impressive. I like that last one that you will be deciding on keeping. A very nice post.

Clown Parade is my favorite of the bunch as well. Here at my place Thomas Tew is on warning. I've had it several years and it has barely bloomed and what it had weren't much to look at.

Debra, i have always liked Pistachio Eyes but it is in a terrible spot and needs to be moved-it never buds up very well.

Kay, Like a Gee Six is new and these are first blooms. I will wait for more blooms and another year before christening it into the garden!

Brad, I am sorry Thomas Tew has not performed well. Was that the plant I sent? Sometimes they are just like that. I have a couple that are on my warning list also although they perform well for others!!

Charming Charlie seems to be performing well for you. Some years here, it has very low bud count. Not a fast multiplier here either.

Mantis, what is the older pink Stamile you grow that performs so well? As I remember, you once stated it was not widely grown.

Nice clumps and singles! Thomas Tew would have to be my pick today. I like Clown Parade--love those bitones.

Wow nice clumps! I love the circle of Thomas Tews! Similar one will probably be one of my first to bloom this year :) Clown Parade is always a favorite. Yeah, very nice coloring and ruffling on Golden Globe. From single ones Pistachio Eyes is my favorite.

I'm with Debra on Pistachio Eyes. Like its frilly round form........... Although I'm not much on off white daylilies with eyes (they remind me too often of my old Pandora's Box), Thomas Tew never fails to make me look. Great shot of it doing its thing. Golden Globe also merits my attention. Everything is doing so well for you................Maryl

Thanks nat4b, Thomas Tew has been wonderful in throwing lots of blooms every day. It will bloom out fast but always reblooms at leadt twice.

Maryl, I still have Pandora’s Box!! I wish I could capture the purple on Thomas Tew-it is like velvet. I think I am drawn to that more than the rest of the bloom!

Oh, Kate, I have a lot of older Stamile pinks. Perhaps Blue Pink Beauty.
