I was really just hoping for an opinion.
I really don’t want to get into the dimensions of everything, except to say the wall space around the window to the left is 7” and the wall space to the right of the window is 2 1/2”.
There won’t be any changes made with upper cabinets at this time. These are my new cabinets going in.
The only options I can think of is to put open shelves on the left of the window or put a 3” filler. Either one is not a perfect option I know.

Need measurements to help. It does look bad. I'd guess a filler piece somewhere on the left side, but not right at the window, but can't say without seeing the entire wall/plan.

Well I do understand that but right now I am unable to change it, so going to have to make the best of it and thought there might be a helpful opinion.

So would a 3” filler look bad?
I guess I’m going to have to get a smaller cabinet to put on the right of the window. I don’t think there’s anyway around it.

I do have slight wiggle room to move the right cabinet over an inch or even 2 inches.

cd7733 and I’m assuming I should not try to bring attention to it by making it look like a door but just leave it as a filler with a side?

Thank you Livewire. The big space to the right of my sink base is where the dishwasher will be going. We just haven’t installed yet. As you can see we are still in the process of installing and that’s why everything is a mess.

Livewire could you help me understand why it won’t work. The cabinet has a straight flat edge where the filler could be screwed to the angled cabinet. I realize that I will have to make a box with a side panel. Then I will finish the sides to distract from the filler. Thank you

Do you want a cheap solution or the right one?

As others have said, this should have been designed differently. At this point, your options are to

a) live with it

b) bandaid and hope no one notices

c) fix

This was a diy project and yes there was a mistake made by me. I was looking for help to solve the problem in a cost effective way. I am a perfectionist so I can appreciate the expert opinions of “doing it right”. I just was trying to prevent a costly mistake from being more costly to solve.
There is much food for thought here and some comments that have left me feeling very stupid for asking. But nevertheless I put the question out there and appreciate getting input.

Thank you everyone for your advice and opinions. I just know I can’t live with this and so I’m going to order the appropriate size cabinet for the right side to even everything out.

I’d take the easy way out and hang a curtain rod from cabinet to cabinet. Hang two narrow panels arranged so they appear even - but only you will know that the panel on one side is covering more wall than window.

Unfortunately, the curtain solution doens’t help if the sink is centered on the window, which it probably is.

@tarasmom I’m glad you’re reordering the correct size cabinet. As a diy-er myself, I get the frustration that comes with projects, and I think being flexible to fixing it will give you a result you’re truly happy with. Good luck!

Hillside house, exactly! Part of diy is accepting the fact there will bumps along the way and being willing to work thru it to find a good solution. I feel like ordering the right size cabinet is the best solution so I’m not wasting a lot of time trying to figure out this one particular problem.

Can you move the cabint over and put the filler on the other side?

I hear your frustration but applaud your effort of DIYing. I agree with your decision to order the new cabinet and look forward to seeing your completed project!!
