Great daylilies, Debra. I like a good, ruffley pink, and Bubblegum Delicious looks good. I have Mississippi Man and Lonesome Heart, pretty blooms but I wish there were more buds. Love Diver Down, Lonesome Jaguar, Stenciled Infusion, Lillian's Thin Ice...well would be easier to say which ones I don't like...none of them, all look beautiful

Bubblegum Delicious looks great. I have had Lillian's Thin Ice for three years and it put out its first ever bloom today...Not as lovely as yours by the way, but that is often the case in first blooms.

Debra: You seem to be battling a couple of foes in your garden this year but your pics are so pretty. How does Lillian's Thin Ice hold up in the rain? Does it lean when filled with buds?

I agree, Stenciled Infusion is a wonderful patterened bloom, its at the top in my favorite pattern list. Bubbllegum Delicious was showing off today, glad its on your favorite list. I hope your nlooming woes go away soon.

Kay - It seems Lillian's Thin Ice did not take off right away for you or Kate. That surprises me. Being born and bred in Alabama, I would think LTI would do better for you than me. I hope yours will multiply and be fruitful now that it's finally bloomed.

Julia - Lillian's Thin Ice does not have many buds this time, but I don't remember scapes leaning in years when it had buds in the high teens. It's never been the registered 36 inches tall for me. Here, in good years, scapes get about 30 inches tall. It does OK in the rain.

No, LTI has not multiplied much. The blooms are lovely but after 4 years I had hoped for a bigger clump. Same issue with Lillian’s Vapor Trails. Dancing Flamingo is really pretty and Bubblegum Delicious is indeed a pretty pink.

Kate - I guess I was just lucky with LTI. Avedon sent it to me in a trade with four fans, and they all bloomed beautifully that first year. Then it increased to 11 fans by the next year. It stayed at 11 fans last year, when I noticed grubs were feeding on the outside edges. This year it has 13 fans, although some of those fans are very tiny due to grub predation. Are you sure, you've had yours four years? I've only had mine four, but maybe you ordered it that same year mine first bloomed.

I would have thought so too, Debra. I will probably move it this fall and see if I find a place it likes better...Lillian's Vapor Trail has been wonderful this first year in the ground, so you never know.

Debra, I checked my master purchase list and you are correct. This is the third year for LTI. It is the fourth year for Lillian’s White Lies and Lillian’s Lying Time Again. (What was it with Fred and lies? :)!!) All from different vendors. Lying Time died-did not replace. White Lies has not multiplied past two fans. LTI died on first order-the vendor replaced it although I was going to reorder. He said he was not going to keep it in his inventory as it did not multiply well for him. So perhaps just a bad plant pool! Lillian’s Crazy Arms is the only Lillian I grow that has performed well.

Kate - Than's interesting that so many of Fred's cultivars have not performed well for you. Lillian's Vapor Trails multiplied well for me, and I sold two three-fan divisions last year. I was hoping to sell all of that clump since I do not care for the form of Vapor Trails, but I still have a small piece, and it even multiplied in a very teeny pot. I know lots of folks here grow and like Vapor Trails, but with my limited space, it's just not for me. I only keep registered cultivars now that I either absolutely love or that I use for hybridizing purposes. Because I dislike the form, I would never hybridize with it.

Debra, Kate and Kay: thanks for the feedback on Lillian's Vapor Trail. I did contact Avendon through the NGA site yesterday as I saw she had a photo of it to see what her thoughts were on it., ie does it lean when heavily budded, etc. Got some good feedback.
