if current new growth is ok.. then shock is over.. and nothing to worry about ...

hmmm.. been forever since i grew them.. i thought they were heavy water uses.. so better off in some shade ... especially during the heat of the day ...

in sure the stone edging and black top are not helping with the usual night time recovery period.. as they hold heat late into darkness ...

pretty nice lawn.. can we rule out lawn spray drift??

are you only relying on lawn irrigation for watering ... it might net get deep enough for these plants ...

Thanks for your response. We did have a lawn treatment but made sure it was kept away from the plants. Guess I'll just have to hope they bounce back. Can't see much else to do. They're usually pretty hardy little plants!

but the watering issue is probably complicated by lawn irrigation .. since it looks like one spectacular lawn ...

how did you insure no lawn drift hit the plants on the edge of the lawn ... always looking for new ideas in that regard....

It's likely too much water and too much mulch, which has caused the beginning of a fungal disease, to which they are prone. Get the mulch away from the base of the plants (don't let it touch the plant), remove extremely diseased leaves/stems, and treat for disease. Try to water without getting the foliage wet, when not relying on the rain for water.
