Mixing appliance hardware?

last modified: 5 years ago

I had been set on getting the cafe 48" range and an additional 30" french door oven with the brushed bronze hardware. But I saw the hardware in person and feel like the knobs look kind of cheaper than some others.

My husband and young adult daughter who bakes frequently really want the french door oven and the wall it's on is not as visble so I could live with them, but in the meantime I've fallen in love with the look of the hallman range. White with brass.

I had planned on doing antique brass faucet and pot filler.

I know we can mix some metals, but this seems like it may be too many. I do not want chrome/polished nickel.

Any advice?

i am all for mixing finishes and i think you can, but i'd try to keep appliances the same finish.... the hallman and cafe are 2 different looks, which one are you after more, can you stick to one?

    @HU-187528210 thank you.

Our wall ovens will be on a side wall and only visible when within the kitchen area. I'm just not sure what wall oven really "matches" the italian ranges. Here's the range with the matte white with brushed bronze handles. I could consider switching the handles on the ovens to the brushed stainless and tie them in more that way. In store the brushed stainless have a bit of a warmer look.

Or even though I don't love stainless steel appliances would it look better with the stainless wall ovens?

wrote a long post, but i dont think it posted....

to summarize, i was saying that i think at the end of the day the thing that would irk me or be most important to me is the matching hardware

id probably get the hallman range and the cafe french door, see if it bothers you, if it does get a replacement hardware from hallman or cafe and change them out...

the stainless and white or white and white isnt a big deal, id probably do all white, but all stainless or mix would be fine as well

These are beautiful appliances! I would like the handles to be the same metal if it was me. These photos look like a rose-ish gold and yellow-ish gold. Maybe if the handles were brushed stainless they would look good with the brushed bronze, being the same finish? And the whites already match?

@HU-187528210 I agree the hardware is probably my biggest concern, but I love the brass on the range and if I changed it to stainless it would just lose it's beauty to me. Just a personal thing, as I know many love stainless/chrome. I have been thinking since the range has stainless at the top trim and burner area that it would tie in the cafe stainless with stainless hardware.

@Michelle thank you. I wish that the range company made wall ovens so we could get away from the hardware issue. I do agree the brass finishes are different. One is a true brass look and the other a brushed bronze with a pinky tone. I think I will have to do the stainless wall ovens with stainless handles and hope that it ties in to the bit of stainless on the range.

I paid today to have a sample of the brass from the range sent to me so I can see if there is anything I can do.

I love love love my french door oven, I ended up with Monogram double oven because it more closely matched my Subzero refrig. finish right next to it...... I wanted the Thermador orginally but I knew for me, it would irritate to have finishes that were so mismatched, and I didn't want a french door on the bottom. Try to find a store that has both products, even if you need to make it a day trip...for all the money and time spent in the kitchen you want to be sure to have no regrets!
