Saturday's Sultry Stars

It's so very humid here today that when I came in from taking pictures I was totally wet - skin and clothes. Right now it's 93 and feels like 100. I don't think I'm going to mow grass this afternoon.

Carolina Pale Face made a prettty clump today.

Destined to See had multiple blooms too.

Applique with a clump, and Violet Sabrewing in the back.

Men in Black

Rosie With A Ring ffo - This was a nice bonus I received from Mike Derrow last year that is just now blooming. I look forward to crossing it with my red-eyed babies.

Sensational Heart ffo - This is another of my new Salter acquisitions. I ripped the sepal trying to help it open.

Amethyst Prism

Green Mystique ffo

Neat blue color on Stenciled Infusion this a.m.

Nice group of blooms. I love Men in Black and Rosie with a Ring (you know I love the red and white daylilies). We bought Rosie with a Ring last season, but ours hasn't bloomed yet. I love Sensational Heart too and Destined to See. Oh, I guess I like them all.

Weather is the same here--horribly humid on top of the heat.

Applique is lovely. The Carolina Pale Face group is a beauty, sensational Heart is a nice one and that is a lovely Stenciled Infusions photo.

Hoosier Nan - I was surprised at how curved back the petals and sepals were on Rosie With A Ring. There almost no curving on the hybridizer's photo. Also the eye was a darker red than a rose red here. I really like that one!

I can identify with your humidity! It was 82 degrees at 7 this morning when I was out and I came in dripping wet as well. we are in a "special weather statement" with warnings of heat index of 105. My first day in 2 weeks of sunshine and I can't work in my garden!!!

Rosie With a Ring is so pretty. Men in Black has wonderful color. Great clumps! Carolina Pale Face looks lovely in that clump! Stay cool!!

Kate - I know you, kay and Maryl have even higher heat and humidity than I do right now. I really need to week and mow, but it's just too miserable right now.

So hot, temps are only in upper 80s supposedly, but it feels much hotter to me.

Your clumps all look so pretty. I really like Men in Black, but Rosie with a Ring and Sensational Heart may beat out MIN as my

Carolina Paleface and Destined to See look great goday! Stenciled Infusion did out do itself today. I was hoping to see more seedlings today, maybe tomorrow?

Lovely pics. Not a bad bloom in the group. Has your Dearest Valentine started blooming yet? I thought by now it would be.

Julia - No Dearest Valentine has not started blooming yet. Many daylilies here are starting their blooms a week or two later.

Temperatures here are a killer. After months of fighting the ever changing cold/wet weather I just finished all my "spring" chores on Wednesday and was ready to enjoy new daylily blooms when it turned 105 Thursday. Miserable..........Your Green Mystique makes me nostalgic. One of the first edgy ones I grew. Lasted for many years. Such a pretty one. Got to pick that as my favorite today..................Maryl

Maryl - Green Mystique is one that's really responded to the BT grub killer. Only one scape bloomed last year, but this year most scapes are well budded and seem to have recovered.

Wow some lovely blooms Debra but for me Stenciled Infusion is the one that grabs my attention. Second place would be Men In Black , Sensational Heart is glorious
