Go to a garden center and ask them to suggest a medium height ground cover for a hillside. Shown below is pachysandra that camouflages the sides of the steps. Creeping juniper is also a suitable groundcover for a hillside, which stays green all winter. In either case, consider a much wider planting, which could save you mowing and create a green oasis in a hard to maintainlocation.

You're welcome. Ground cover will take awhile to grow in, but you could have a nice green border and ground cover bed on that hill. But talk to someone at a nursery, not a big box store, to get the right kinds of plants and instructions.
