Checking in with everyone

I just wanted to check in with everyone. We had some powerful weather pass through early this morning. We lost power about 5:30 this morning (that happens a lot here) and when we went out for breakfast, we saw some trees uprooted near the downtown area. We had a small mulberry tree broken down. It had been blown over a couple of years ago and had resprouted. Now it is gone again. It's a named variety mulberry called Illinois Everbearer. Our daughter loved the mulberries.

A friend in New Palestine had some baseball sized hail. His plants are just shredded and his roof is probably damaged.

We had a few limbs down but no evidence of hail. The flowers are really beaten up. We did need the rain though.

Did anyone else have severe weather?

Nary a drop here in Ky. I knew northerly areas were due for rain, did not realize anything like that. Glad you are ok, and rain can be appreciated.

Wow Nancy , sounds very scary ! no rain here at the moment . We too desperately need some rain . We had a little 2 days ago but could really use a good ground soaking steady all day rain . Don't want to have to take on a tornado though.

No bad weather west of Chicago, as you know now the weather went south of us. Glad to hear that you have no structural damage. We had hail here on Memorial day two seasons ago, it shredded 75% of my hostas. I hope your daylilies recover quickly!

My goodness, Nancy! I am sorry about your tree's damage. Are your plants okay? We had some tropical rains, but nothing bad here. there were a couple of tornadoes with damage in south Alabama this morning.

Glad to hear your okay and no damage. Too bad about the Mulberry tree. We only got a very brief shower here after they kept predicting thunderstorms. Suppose to get to 90 tomorrow here.
