HELP! Monstera issues - bugs and white leaves

Got this end of March 2021.i havent moved the plant from its original soil. I water no more than once a week. Ive been seeing bugs at the bottom of the grey planter/in the soil when I disturb it. Also I noticed 2 new leaves coming in are turning white/brown. Any tips on what I should do?

If I saw bugs coming out of the soil at the bottom, I'd have that plant outside so fast it would make your head spin.

My instinct is to repot this. Pull it out of the pot and remove the majority of the existing soil. Then repot it in some nice potting soil with a little extra perlite.
