if so .... you would think they would have noticed and mentioned the trumpet flowers on such ...

ps: oh yea of little faith ... there is nothing that the others in this group cant ID.. and more often than you think.. they do it on words alone .. but that isnt recommended ... i am but a rank amateur at this game compared to them ...

I think peren.all's possibility is a very likely one! And if this vine is constantly cut back or it is emerging as root shoots from a mother plant located elsewhere (they can travel considerable distances), one would be unlikely to see any flowers.

As said, it's trumpet vine -- it spreads by roots & has to be one of the most difficult vines to eradicate. I know.....

You have my sympathies, if it grows there like it does here (Tx). I’ve never in 30 yrs dealt with a more beautifully horrible plant.

Some years I haven't cut it back until end of summer. I don't remember orange trumpet flowers on it. I don't remember anything significant blooming on it. But especially not orange flowers.

If it climbs high into trees and shrubs, the flowers may be up at the top and out of sight. Sometimes you can find the spent ones nearby on the ground.

Since this plant will inevitably grow back yet again, take some additional images of it in situ and then again after you cut it off. This time, show the WHOLE plant, and then lengths of stem with the leaves attached, etc.

Campsis radicans has opposite arrangement of pinnate compound leaves, and the leaflets' morphology are distinctly different than other plants with similar foliage. Should you leave this plant to grow long enough, you will experience the tubular orange flowers as well.

I cannot disagree with any of the statements about this plant's vigor nor its disrespect for boundaries. I have always preferred to view it from afar.
