It's really getting there! And now at least you know that it's possible yours may do that same thing: stagnate and then explode. No way to know for sure. But it could happen!

Popmama - very nice looking plant. You, and everyone else, needs to school me on keeping your plants nice and small and under controlled growth. How do you do it? Mine are like a dog in bed - they take up every available inch of free space! Yours looks so perfect. They must love your care - so, inquiring minds want to know - how do you do it? ;-)

Well, Bill, I'm not intentionally keeping this plant small! I'd love for it to be enormous. I've never done anything to this one to force it to be small. A few factors here:

- this variety is rather expensive so when you purchase it, it's almost always a tiny starter plant or cutting

- plant has been as slow grower

- trellising it keeps it in a defined area I guess

- apply Tom Thumb 'small' unfertilizer (haha just kidding)

@popmama (Colorado, USDA z5) looking for advice on mine. It’s growing but keeps losing it’s baby leaves. The second pic growth is turning yellow. Do you think it needs more water? I am thinking of combining them in a bigger pot.

Yours looks really good. The baby leaf loss thing seems to be pretty normal for hoyas new to an environment. So does that yellowing tip. That all seems to be normal for some new hoyas. How long have you had it?

I water mine about once a week and it was in a very small pot for the entire time. When I saw active growth I did try to water it more frequently but it dries out fast and I wasn't always consistent on the watering.

Thank you @popmama (Colorado, USDA z5)! I got them in April. Glad to hear it‘s normal. I water about every 5 days. They are in small cups. They seem to dry up pretty fast. I am wondering if I should combine them in a 3”.

Well...I combined them in a 2.5 in pot (we had a little wedding ceremony) Haha!! I hope they survive 🤞

Where are you sending them on their honeymoon? I'm sure it won't be long before there's a lot of little rotundiflorias popping up. I think you need to get them a monkey bar set so they have something to play on as they grow up.
