Hi all, I planted 4 Festiva Maxima (from John Scheepers) in the fall of 2016, and after a few years of getting settled, this year they finally exploded with masses of beautiful blooms. However, to my surprise, they lack any red whatsoever... is this common with FM? Or was I sent the wrong peony? The blossoms also seem a but small for FM, and it bloomed after Elsa Sass and Sarah Bernhardt (Note, in the photo, there is one "Elsa Sass," at lower left, for comparison, and the rest are supposedly FM). Thanks for your comments!
