Yes- I was set to order from ikea last month, then I read about the headaches people were having getting their items delivered. So I went back to square one of trying to choose a cabinet supplier. my contractor suggested kitchendesignpros.com, and they will ship much faster. He let us view the cabinets on another project he was doing, and they seemed nice enough. But the quote was triple the ikea quote, so that killed that plan. Maybe they raised their prices, because our contractor expected them to be similar to the ikea bid, based in his other projects. I think we may end up going with Waypoint- somewhat faster shipping than some others, American made, okay quality (I hope).

We put Ikea kitchen cabinets in our small laundry room. 2 wall and one base. It took WEEKS of waiting to get the base cabinet. We had to go to 2 different Ikeas to get the parts for the 2 wall cabinets that we could find that we put in ahead of the base cabinet.. They didn't have the 10" drawer front at the time but we (stupidly) went ahead and got the side panels and 15" & 5" drawer fronts, thinking it would be a few weeks to a month to get the one last 10" front..... still...... waiting..... At this point we're not sure we're going to take the whole thing down and change colors (if we can even get all the parts) or wait it out for the drawer or change to doors for the base cabinet. We were going to put in an Ikea kitchen.... but the nightmare of getting the pieces for just a laundry room has really scared us off! They are beautiful and so customizable... but the waiting!

All along I had planned on using IKEA cabinets. Then, over the winter and spring I began to read all about the delays. We gave up on IKEA and are instead getting custom made done in a finish that I wanted but wouldn't have been able to get with IKEA anyway. I figure it is probably costing me about 1/3 more than just going with an IKEA style that would have been a design compromise for me.

I ordered my Ikea cabinets in store last month and they arrived within a week. It depends on the size is my understanding. 24-inch high cabinets were available, but 36-inch was backordered with no date available.

We ordered our IKEA cabinets in March 2020. They finally arrived, in flat pack, in August of 2020, after three months of zero communication. We were then unable to get anyone to do the construction (including the demo, electrical, plumbing, and painting necessary) until JUNE of 2021. It's been ridiculous. We're finally getting the countertops installed this Friday, and then we'll see when our contractor actually fits the backsplash into his schedule. I've already figured I'm going to be doing the sink/disposal/faucet install myself (which, okay, I've done before).

The pandemic sucks. Now we've got another kitchen to do in the retirement home we're going to move into this fall. The plan was to do this kitchen while we were still in the first house, but the delays on that end mean we probably will be doing a full demo and rebuild of the kitchen, laundry room, and 2nd bathroom through the spring and summer of 2022, AFTER this house is sold. Good times.

Unless youve been living under a rock, never read a newspaper, or watch TV news, you know the pandemic has affected home improvement materials all across the board, all across the country. Materials are in short supply, and have increased in price by 25%. Wait times for appliances are 6 mos to a year. Just look at some threads on this site.

Not knowing how complex your design is, J Collection (sold through Home Depot) is somewhat similar to IKEA. I had planned to do IKEA until I saw the delivery time/inventory issues.

J Collection is shipping my "already assembled" cabinets three weeks after ordering.

Not nearly as many options as to type of cabinets; white or gray only. But having the kitchen done in three weeks wins the prize.
