Even if you don’t want to hear the answer, it still seems like a poor choice of location for the vine.

Regardless, most grapes are self-fertilizing, and aren’t typically attractive to bees. Even if they were, foraging bees (and wasps) are entirely consumed with the task at hand and pay almost no attention to nearby human activity.

i had an inherited concord grape that came with my first house ... about 50 feet away ...

the only issue i had with grapes in fall.. is the fruit falling to the ground and fermenting ... and let me tell you.. stoned bees and wasps have no sense of humor ... and will attack for the shear drunken pleasure of the activity ... gang bangers.. frat boys.. whatever ... lol

but i do agree with the comment above about bees on their mission from god.. not being interrupted in said mission by someone walking by ...

but i also wonder about the vigor of a well established grape in that small area .. of course anything can be pruned into submission ... but the older i get.. the more i wish i had taken that into account ...

lastly.. back in the day.. the ultimate attractant to bees was womens hairspray ... i dont what was in stuff like aquanet ... but if anyone was going to be gratuitously attacked in my garden.. is was someone with a helmet head.. and just fyi ... im not so old anyone ever showed up with a beehive hairdo... that would make sense though.. lol. ... [of course.. these were the same women who came to look at the garden slathered in enough perfume to make your eyes water ... so was it the hairspray ... or the perfume ....]

I think it could work. As grape vines go this one is very compact and you can always prune as needed. And it is small enough and easy enough to access that you can always clip off any forming flower buds and remove any bee/wasp/hornet potential.

Well with the bee/wasp problem being eliminated and not having any structure in my property to grow a vine, I think I will give it a try on the rail. If its goes too rampant and becomes unsuitable for the location I will cut it back the following spring and transplant it elsewhere.
