who knows ... just try a couple more.. and report back ... whats to lose ...

and who can tell if we will have a long or short fall ....

it would probably be best to plan on keeping the in pots ... most things planted rather late.. cant cope with the heat of summer as babes without a good root mass .. so growing in pots might help you manage without the transplant shock... or having to baby a random seedling in the general garden ...

figure out how to properly store whatever remaining seed you have.. so hopefully you will have a few to try next spring..

Ken good advice on pots. I may use a large pot. Likewise I could move it to a protected area if there is a freak early frost followed by more better weather.

woodnative I would think you could sow some. Most flower farmers succession-sow, and I think sunflowers are pretty quick. Before you buy (or at least before you sow) check the days to maturity on the seed packet and see how much time you have. Good luck - pretty plant!
