Thanks, tj but, even though it was here around noon on the cilantro next to the parsley….….. I have not been able to find it in the last couple of hours. I put a piece of sheer fabric over the area yesterday so a bird word not spy it and added some sticks. It was about 1 1/2 ” long, about the size it would be ready to form the chrysalis. I can’t find it hanging either……….. what to do, what to do????? :-(

When it is time to pupate, chances are it will leave the plant and make its chrysalis elsewhere. That said, it might still be on your parsley. They do blend in.

Thanks KC, I have been looking for the chrysalis……the parsley is in a raised bed at waist height. I have even scoured underneath the bed. I will keep looking……but the good news is while I was sitting outside yesterday, I saw the Blue Swallowtail flying over and landing on the parsley several times. I went to look and sure enough she laid 3 eggs that I could find. I will check them every day to see what’s going on.
